Where to check live disruption across London — travel, weather, power and the emergency lines. This page points you to the official sources that update in real time.

Note: government.london does not itself issue emergency alerts or publish live incident feeds. This page signposts the official services that do. Always rely on the source — TfL, National Rail, the Met Office, your energy network or the emergency services — for the current picture. In a life-threatening emergency, call 999.

Travel & transport

Tube, DLR, Overground, Elizabeth line, trams and buses are run by Transport for London, which publishes a live status board updated minute by minute. For National Rail services into and across London — Thameslink, Southeastern, South Western, Greater Anglia and the rest — check National Rail. For disruption caused by storms, snow or flooding, start with this site's own weather page and the Met Office warnings map.

Emergencies & essentials

Use the number that matches the situation. For anything life-threatening — a crime in progress, a fire, someone seriously ill or injured — call 999. Use the other lines for non-emergencies: police matters that are not urgent, medical advice, power cuts and gas leaks. These are the national public-safety numbers; they work across every London borough.

You can check and report power cuts online as well as by phone. The 105 line connects you free to your area's electricity network operator, and the same operators publish live power-cut maps. GOV.UK Emergency Alerts is the government system that sends a loud warning to mobile phones when there is a serious threat to life nearby, such as severe flooding or wildfire — the page below explains how it works and how to check your phone is set up to receive them.

Local alerts from your council

Alerts that are specific to a neighbourhood — missed or suspended bin collections, roadworks and road closures, planned parking suspensions, school closures and flood warnings for local watercourses — are published by the 33 London authorities on their own websites. Each borough runs its own service-status and "report it" pages. Find your borough to reach its local alerts, then check its news or service-updates section for the current position where you live.
