London's public services are run by a handful of different bodies. Transport for London handles driving charges and travel; the Greater London Authority sets city-wide strategy; GOV.UK runs the national services such as voting and Blue Badges; and your borough council delivers the everyday things — bins, Council Tax, parking, planning. Because those tasks live on separate websites, finding the right page is half the battle. This is the front door. Pick a service below and we send you to the official page, with a plain summary of what it is, who it applies to, what it costs and how to do it first.
How it works
Each service page follows the same shape: what it is, who has to do it, what it costs and the exact steps to complete it — then a single button through to the official TfL, GOV.UK or council service. We never take a payment, hold a card or process an application. The last click always lands you on the real government site.
Note: Charges and rules change. We show the figures current at the last update above, but the official service is always the final word — check it before you pay.
Local services
Many everyday tasks are run by your borough, not a city-wide body.
Bins and recycling, Council Tax bills, parking permits, planning applications, school admissions, licensing and reporting a problem in your street are all delivered by one of London's 33 local authorities — your borough council or, in the Square Mile, the City of London Corporation. Which council you deal with depends on your postcode, and each runs its own website and payment system. If a task below is a local one, use the finder to jump straight to the right borough.
